Pen, Pencil, Colourwash Studies
Sometimes a full painting isn't appropriate. Many scenes are better as line drawings, line and wash, something quick. Or, quite simply, they would look silly on large canvasses. Now and then the subject is located within a digital photograph, by cropping in to the image and looking for a small, intimate corner of a street, or an interesting arrangement of buildings with trees. There may be ornate brickwork, railings, or rundown side-yards. This is focusing less on finding something to paint, and aiming more for something to draw or casually sketch.
