Christine has painted for many years, since the 1970’s; and enjoys a mix of subjects and media. She likes to experiment with different surfaces and methods.
Oils and soft pastels have been her main interests for a long time. Flowers and still life tend to be the subjects of choice, but Christine prefers not to focus on just one area because regular changes act as a stimulus to produce and explore.
She does not belong to any major art groups, preferring to do the bulk of her drawing and painting alone, or with a local group. She maintains an interest in the technical aspects of art materials and this encourages experimentation.
During 2019, pastels have continued to play the main role, and smaller paintings have made a re-appearance. During the coming year Christine plans to do more of these, in watermedia and also oils where feasible. An exploration into the use of line-and-wash is also to hand.
Christine is based in the south-west of England, Britain.
